Appeals/Post-Conviction Relief

Challenging a criminal conviction is a daunting process full of complex rules and procedures. If you have been convicted of a crime and are considering an appeal or other post-verdict litigation, representation by an experienced, accomplished appellate lawyer is critical.  The Bahuriak Law Group has the necessary expertise to not only identify issues for appeal, but to draft a successful appellate roadmap for success.  Whether you were convicted in a State or Federal court, you have the right to an appeal of your conviction.  In addition, even after you first appeal as of right has been exhausted; you may be able to seek additional relief depending on the circumstances.

Timing is essential to a successful appeal.  Certain filings and procedures must be undertaken as soon as a judgment of conviction is rendered.  Failure to take the proper action immediately can have not only a dramatic affect on the possible success of an appeal, but dictate whether your appeal will be heard.

In addition to direct appeal, certain other procedures are available, such as Habeas Corpus and Petitions for Post Conviction Relief, which may otherwise allow you to collaterally attack your conviction for reasons such as ineffective assistance of counsel or an illegal conviction.

If you are convicted of a crime, you need to immediately contact the Bahuriak Law Group to protect your rights.  The BLG will make sure the appropriate procedures are followed to give your appeal the highest possibility of success.  Once your notice of appeal is filed, we will meticulously examine your trial record to identify issues of appeal.  Our attention to detail in spotting the issues, applying the law and representing you at oral arguments is how the BLG differentiates itself from other appellate legal practices.
